So, why did I build de-bri.com?

I’m between things, professionally speaking. My current contract is winding down and I’m looking for what’s next. That’s not a crisis (yet), it’s just the reality of how I’ve always worked. But this time felt different, and it forced me to review where I am in my career and what I need.

I needed to level up how I use AI. I’d been using it in my workflow, but definitely not to its full potential. I work in SEO, so I was across the tools and the noise around them but I hadn’t really pushed myself to rethink how I work with them. When your industry is moving this fast, “good enough” starts to feel like falling behind.

I have no online presence. For someone in SEO, that’s slightly awkward to admit. I’ve never been a LinkedIn poster. In the past I’ve been asked by employers to do thought leadership and found reasons not to, my client work was always my focus. And despite my client-facing work over the years, I’m an introvert. I don’t enjoy the limelight, and putting myself out there publicly doesn’t come naturally. But the reality is, if I’m looking for new opportunities, being invisible doesn’t help.

I needed somewhere to do the work. Not just write about it. Writing without action just doesn’t lead to anything. My mission is to actually do it, build things, test things, track what happens, share the results. A blog felt too passive. I wanted a platform where the site itself is part of the experiment.

So de-bri.com is all three things at once. A place to get my hands dirty with AI and whatever the latest SEO methods are. A way to exist online without pretending to be someone I’m not. And a running record of what I’m building and learning.

Whether it leads anywhere useful, we’ll see.
